EPIPHANY SOUP KITCHEN
The Epiphany Soup Kitchen (ESK) is a non-profit organization in Providence, RI. We feed a hot meal to people in need every Saturday afternoon.
ESK is your classic assembly-line-style meal site, and we have been operating for over 40 years. We were originally housed by the Church of the Epiphany, hence our name. From there, we moved from Grace Church downtown and then to S. Stephen’s in October 2009.
ESK is staffed weekly by volunteers from different parishes and organizations. The Board currently consists of Elke Moonan, Mary Blake, Elizabeth Blake, Katy Gilchrist, and Melinda DelCioppio (not pictured).
FOR VOLUNTEERS
We take 7-8 volunteers (ages 12+) every Saturday from 2:30-5:30pm. Shifts are broken into 2 hour blocks, either Shift 1 from 2:30-4:30 or Shift 2 from 3:20-5:30.
No experience is necessary, and a team member will be present every week to assist in directing volunteers. Jobs include chopping vegetables, plating desserts, serving the guests, doing dishes, and cleaning up after the meal.
While our volunteer base is very large, we encourage all who are interested to reach out. We cannot do this without the help of our wonderful volunteers, so thank you for donating your time to this worthy cause!

FOR GUESTS
All are welcome to join us for a hot meal every Saturday from 3:30-4:30pm.
We are located in the Great Hall on the second floor of S. Stephen’s Church. Enter through the red double doors left of the cobblestone driveway, and head right up 1 flight of stairs to the second floor. Please note that we do not have a working elevator and are therefore not wheelchair accessible at this time. We do however have chairlifts on the stairs for those who need to use them.
We also occasionally offer gently-used clothing and brand new travel toiletries provided by generous donations from The Cloak at St. Martin’s, volunteers, and other community members.
