Epiphany Soup Kitchen

The Epiphany Soup Kitchen (ESK) is a non-profit organization in Providence, RI. We feed a hot meal to people in need every Saturday afternoon, and we are now open for in-person dining after being take-out only during the pandemic.

ESK is your classic assembly-line-style meal site, and we have been operating for over 40 years now! We were originally housed by the Church of the Epiphany hence where our name came from. From there, we moved from Grace Church downtown to St. Stephen’s in October 2009.

ESK is staffed weekly by volunteers from different parishes and organizations. Extra hands are always welcome to come and help!

For Volunteers:

ESK is now looking for volunteers every Saturday from 2:30-5:30pm. No experience is necessary, and a board member will be present every week to assist in directing volunteers. We cannot do this without the help of our wonderful volunteers (ages 12 and up), so please consider donating your time to this worthy cause!

Jobs include chopping vegetables, plating desserts, serving the guests, doing dishes, etc. Level of commitment is up to the individual and can range from once a semester to once a month to every week.

Sign up for a serving shift here!

If you have any questions or need assistance signing up, please email our volunteer coordinator, Elizabeth, at ESK.Prov@gmail.com

For Guests:

All are welcome to join us for a hot meal every Saturday from 3:30-4:30pm.

We are located in the Great Hall on the second floor of St. Stephen’s Church. Enter through the red double doors left of the cobblestone driveway, and go up 1 flight of stairs or take the elevator to the second floor.

We also occasionally offer gently-used clothing and brand new travel toiletries provided by generous donations from our volunteers and other community members.
